Advocates of Chinese Medicine use medical history, signs and symptoms, likes, dislikes, pulse quality, tongue appearance and palpation of specific regions and acu–points to form a diagnosis. Even subtle cues like voice quality, skin color and mannerisms can lend important information. Once a diagnosis has been reached, treatment often includes a combination of tools, including acupuncture, moxa–a warming technique, herbs, nutrition, exercise and lifestyle modifications.
